Long version:
The Sunward SWE 08F micro excavator is a testament to the brand's dedication to continuous improvement and customer-focused design. As the latest iteration based on the widely acclaimed SWE 08B, the SWE 08F marks a significant evolution, joining the esteemed ranks of Sunward's F Series.
The evolution from SWE 08B to SWE 08F
Having established a strong market presence with the SWE 08B, Sunward has seized the opportunity to enhance this model further, responding to the constructive feedback from a discerning European clientele. This process has forged a machine that retains the essence of the SWE 08B's reliability while elevating its performance to meet the dynamic demands of the industry.
Advancements in hydraulic performance
At the core of the SWE 08F's enhancements lies a refined hydraulic system. The hydraulic system has been reconfigured to include components from leading manufacturers.
Sunward has optimized the main valve spool and augmented the boom cylinder's diameter by 5mm, amplifying the precision and fluidity of operations. These improvements have been instrumental in augmenting the machine's manoeuvrability and the seamless coordination between the boom and bucket movements, which are particularly noticeable when operating at ground level.
A new priority throttle on the main valve's parallel oil circuit has been introduced, significantly enhancing control during the combined actions of arm raising and upper structure rotation.
Additionally, the SWE 08F boasts a 16% increase in breaking capability, achieved by directly routing the return oil from the breaking circuit into the hydraulic oil tank.
A compact powerhouse
The SWE 08F is meticulously engineered to cater to varied construction scenarios, whether indoor or outdoor. It retains the practical features that made the SWE 08B a favourite, such as track extension, boom swing, and upper structure rotation, complemented by a folding dozer blade for versatility.
The SWE 08F continues to hold the same esteemed Yanmar engine, a hallmark of reliability and performance. The main specifications remain unchanged, with the machine boasting a weight of 1010kg, a power output of 7.2kw/2400rpm, and a bucket capacity of 0.022m³.
Structural and ergonomic enhancements
Sunward's R&D experts have meticulously reimagined key aspects of the SWE 08F. The working mechanism now features forged pipe clamps, a casted bucket connecting rod, and an optimized rear support structure for the boom.
Cover components have been enhanced, including an upgraded front control box and a reversible armrest box development. The undercarriage and upper-carriage have undergone significant upgrades, with the undercarriage sporting a completely new structural upgrade for the retractable track and the upper-carriage boasting a seat upgrade, new structural design, and a lightweight protective frame.
Electrical upgrades
The electrical system has seen the removal of pressure sensors, replaced by the inclusion of pilot safety switches, enhancing overall safety and reliability.
Durability improvements
Sunward has also improved the durability of the SWE 08F. The bucket connecting rod, previously a weldment part, has been changed to a cast part to enhance structural strength.
The main chassis, too, has been re-engineered from a three-section retractable structure to a two-section retractable structure, increasing stability during movement.
Ergonomic and aesthetic redesign
The SWE 08F's upper structure has been revolutionized with a new front console design, utilizing RTM technology for a more straightforward and visually appealing look while ensuring dimensional accuracy.
The ergonomic aspects have also been refined, with a new flip-top armrest box addressing the ease of ingress and egress for operators, alongside the removal of the pressure sensor under the seat for improved safety.
The SWE 08F by Sunward builds meaningfully on the strengths of its predecessor, offering well-thought-out improvements in hydraulics, structure, comfort, and durability. With attention to both operator experience and operational efficiency, this micro excavator is well-positioned to meet the everyday demands of professionals in compact construction environments. Backed by Sunward's ongoing commitment to quality and user-driven development, the SWE 08F is a reliable and practical choice for a wide range of applications.
